I have always love Trisha Yearwood as a country singer. I was excited to see her cooking show on tv and even more excited to have a book sent to me with many of her delicious recipes inside!

About Trisha Yearwood:

TRISHA YEARWOOD started off her recording career as a receptionist at MTM Records and has since had nine number one songs, ten albums, four Gold Record winners, four Platinum Awards, a Double Platinum seller, and a Quadruple Platinum blockbuster. She won back-to-back Country Music Awards as Female Vocalist of the Year in 1997 and 1998 and has been honored with three Grammy Awards. In 2005, Trisha married superstar Garth Brooks, and they currently reside in Oklahoma.

Book Synopsis:

The country music superstar, Food Network standout, and bestselling author shows how delicious and wholesome dishes are part of a balanced lifestyle.

Trisha Yearwood is as much a force in the kitchen as she is on stage. But after years of enjoying decadent Southern comfort food, her culinary philosophy is evolving. As Trisha says, “I have adopted an 80/20 rule: 80 percent of the time I make good choices; 20 percent of the time I let myself splurge a little.”

Whether surprisingly virtuous or just a little bit sinful, the recipes in Trisha’s Table all bring that unmistakable authenticity you’ve come to love from Trisha. You’ll find brand-new dishes emblematic of the variety and balance Trisha champions. They skimp on anything but flavor, including dairy-free Angel Hair Pasta with Avocado Pesto, low-calorie Billie’s Houdini Chicken Salad, vegetarian Smashed Sweet Pea Burgers, and tasty, high-protein Edamame Parmesan, alongside too-good-to-give-up family favorites, such as Slow Cooker Georgia Pulled-Pork Barbecue, Chicken Tortilla Casserole, Snappy Pear-Cranberry Crumble, and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls.

Trisha wants to feed her loved ones—and yours, too—food that tastes good and food that’s good for you. So pull up a seat at Trisha’s Table and dig in!

My Thoughts and More:

To start, the book is beautifully presented and well written. It has wonderful photography of the food, but I also love her personal introduction and the foreword by her husband, Garth Brooks. I really enjoyed the many family photos with captions inside as well. The little tips she left in some of the recipes are also helpful. For example, when vegetables are in season, get them fresh and not canned. Also advice on using certain kitchen items, how to store certain foods, and alternate ingredients.

The recipes are separated into 9 categories, as follows:  breakfast, snacks & appetizers, soups & salads, beef & pork, chicken, turkey & fish, pasta, sides, cakes, cupcakes & pies, and cookies, brownies, bars & more. Each category has between 9 and 14 delicious recipes. Great photos, diverse recipes, easy to follow recipes and a touch of something more to make it special and homey.
