Wreck This Journal [2]

It's another Wreck This Journal Wednesday! Here are the pages I've finished since the post I made last week. :) I am loving this book! I will probably be a little sad when I finish it, but also feel a good sense of accomplishment too. lol There are a few things that I can't do until the snow melts, so at lest I know I have a while longer with it. :)

See my previous WTJ pages, here.

It's hard to see in the pictures, but it's tinted pink. :)

I don't want any food smeared in here. I'm afraid of what smells it might take on or things will mold! lol So I went for stickers instead! I have a huge sticker collection.

I love my staplers... one has blue staples and the other has green! I used two blue staples to keep these pages together. I used the green staples on the office supplies pages above. :)

Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse Review

Here is one of those reviews I promised! I bought the Dream Smooth Mousse foundation by Maybelline at Ulta around Christmas time. I don't usually use a foundation because I knew how hard it can be to find the right one! lol With winter in full swing though, I also knew that my skin was probably going to start looking terrible. I couldn't have that this year! So I try to do lots of moisturizing and such to keep the dry flakes away. It doesn't help at all that I also have oily spots too though. I did a lot of internet research to try to find the best drug store foundation I could that I thought would work for my skin. I quite like this one after trying it a few times. You should be able to find this under $10 at places like Walmart, Walgreens, Ulta, etc. Foundations can be hard to review... everyone's skin is different and we all have our preferences too!

Before applying my face makeup, I always use moisturizer and a face primer. I'd say this is a medium coverage foundation. I will also say that a little can go a long way. I use my Real Techniques buffing brush to apply this. I just dab it a couple times in the foundation and then dot that lightly on some various spots on half of my face. Then I start to buff away. I'll repeat the same process on the other side of my face and then again on my neck. You really don't need a lot of this product to see it work. It goes on very easily and smooth. The texture is super creamy and it blends out very well. I had a terrible skin day this morning... super red and splotchy! This covered it up great and I liked the way my skin looked. It did a good job of covering the redness and hiding my large pores. I put a mattifying powder on my t-zone just to make sure that I wouldn't be getting oily.

I think this is a good foundation for people with dry skin in the winter season. To me, it feels pretty light on my skin too. It has decent lasting power. I think the shade selection could be a lot better. There really isn't that many to choose from. I settled on Nude Beige. I do feel like it comes off a bit... yellow? As I said before, it covered up the redness of my skin and helped to hide the large pores. It really did create a near flawless looking finish for me. I don't think I would use the sponge to apply the foundation. I feel like it would probably go on too thick. You might want to test a few methods and see what works best for you! This foundation seems perfect for me and I will probably be repurchasing it. I might try a shade lighter just to see how much of a difference it makes.  I give you a 5 out of 5, Dream Smooth Mousse! Even if you are more of a cream than a mousse. lol

Hello to Mess Monday! It's a short and sweet post today. Here are the pages I've done so far in my book, Mess: The Manual of Accidents and Mistakes. So far this book is pretty fun, but nothing beats Wreck This Journal! I'll be back again tomorrow with one of the reviews I've promised. :)

My Smash Book [3]

Yay, it's Smash Sunday/Superbowl Sunday! Who are you rootin' for? I think this year will belong to the Broncos! Enjoy yourself some football today! Here are more pages from my Smash Book. :) I'll be back tomorrow for Mess Monday too. I have a few makeup products I need to review as well. Sorry I didn't do any of those this week. I've been miserable because of this weather and just haven't been in the product review mood! lol I promise I'll get to them though.

Here are previous pages:

I am a nature lover! I really enjoy just sitting outside birdwatching and listening to all their songs. I am particularly fond of owls, but I also love chickadees, robins and blue jays. After seeing the silhouettes of the flying birds on the paper in my book, I decided to dedicate them to more birds.

I colored in the mini fuzzy owl poster at my sister's house while babysitting my niece. lol I cut out the poem from an old book. I had lots of little bird stickers, which I added too. I also had cute bird shaped mirrors with sticky backs. Birds represent freedom and travel to me. I added a lock and key as well as some cute tickets. I got to use my sticker maker for the tickets. Quite a handy little thing! I found various other bird cards and such too. I also have a Harry Potter Care of Magical Creatures trading card next to the owls. lol I added a poem I found online about a wise owl:

A wise old owl lived in an oak
The more he saw the less he spoke
The less he spoke the more he heard.
Why can't we all be like that wise old bird?

My Smash Book [2]

I've been doing more pages in my Smash Book! Click here to see the first pages I ever did. This has been a lot of fun! I am really enjoying the "smashing" time that I create for myself in the afternoons. lol I have just been making pages of things that I like and even some with the memories from trips I've taken. :)

On these two pages I decided to do butterflies! I collected everything I could possibly find in my collection of scrapbooking things with butterflies on it. lol I also added in a few flowers for them to land on. ;) I had a small book of inspirational vellum pages and that's where "Just as I am" and "New Life" came from. There are various paper butterflies/flowers and some felt ones. I used my markers to add a few bright colors on the striped page and the green lines around the tree. The white sheet about flowers that attract butterflies was cut out of my old 2013 calendar. :) I used a thin black marker to add the stitching effect around the butterfly on the left page and to add the swirly stitch marks throughout the page too. I thought these ones came out pretty! Can't wait to show off my other pages too!
